1. What are -ER Verbs?

-ER verbs are the most common verbs in French.
They end in -er in the infinitive form.


Examples:

  • parler (to speak)
  • aimer (to like)
  • jouer (to play)
  • regarder (to watch)

2. How to conjugate -ER Verbs


Step 1: Remove -er

Example:
parler → parl


Step 2: Add endings

4. Pronunciation tip


The endings -e, -es, -ent sound the same.

Examples:

The forms nous and vous sound different:

5. Using -ER verbs in sentences


Structure:

Subject + verb + information


Examples:

  • Je parle français
  • Nous jouons au football
  • Il regarde la télévision

J’aime + noun


Examples:

7. Negative form

Subject + ne + verb + pas

1. Forgetting endings
