1. Ordering a Meal in a Restaurant
You can:
- order politely
- choose food and drinks
- ask the price
- ask for the bill
Useful language
- Je voudrais…
- Je prends…
- C’est combien ?
- L’addition, s’il vous plaît.
Example
— Bonjour, je voudrais un café et un sandwich.
— Très bien. Autre chose ?
— Non merci. C’est combien ?
— 8 euros.
Important grammar point
You use je voudrais (polite form), not je veux.
2. Booking a Hotel Room
You can:
- ask for availability
- say dates
- ask the price
- choose the type of room
Useful language
- Je voudrais une chambre.
- Pour une / deux nuits.
- C’est combien par nuit ?
Example
— Bonjour, je voudrais une chambre pour deux nuits.
— Une chambre simple ou double ?
— Une chambre simple, s’il vous plaît.
You use:
- present tense

3. Asking for Services (Bank / Post Office)
You can ask for simple services.
Common requests
- Je voudrais envoyer une lettre.
- Je voudrais retirer de l’argent.

4. Asking for & Giving Directions
You can:
- ask where a place is
- understand directions
- give simple instructions

5. Using Public Transport & Buying Tickets

GRAMMAR CORE — A2 (50%)
6. Passé Composé — Talking hindered actions in the past
At A2 (50%), you start to talk about the past clearly.
You use the passé composé for:
- finished actions
- yesterday / last week / last year
Structure
avoir / être (present) + past participle
Examples
- J’ai mangé au restaurant.
- J’ai pris le bus.
- Je suis allé au marché.
You talk about what happened, not long stories.
7. Past Participles — Agreement (Introduction)
At this level, you learn one simple rule:

With être, the past participle agrees.
Examples
- Elle est allée au café.
- Ils sont arrivés tôt.
You do not need complex explanations yet.
Just notice the ending.
8. Passé Récent — venir de + infinitive
Used for an action that happened just now.
Structure
venir (present) + de + infinitive
Examples
- Je viens de manger.
- Nous venons d’arriver.
This is very useful in daily life.
9. Présent Progressif — être en train de
Used to talk about an action happening right now.
Structure
être + en train de + infinitive
Examples
- Je suis en train de manger.
- Ils sont en train d’attendre.
This helps you explain what you are doing at the moment.
10. Imperative — Positive & Negative
Used to:
- give instructions
- give directions
- give orders
Positive imperative
- Allez tout droit !
- Prenez le bus !
Negative imperative
- Ne tournez pas à gauche.
- N’oubliez pas le ticket.
You use:
- no subject
- present tense form
